Kermit is a graduate of Sheridan High School. While attending Purdue University and majoring in History, he developed an interest in researching local sports history, specifically the football program at his own high school, through the fascinating technology of microfilm. This research led to the publishing of Sheridan High School Football, History and Tradition. After that Kermit collaborated with Harley Sheets to produce an updated edition of Tiger Basketball, A Lebanon Passion. Most recently he has published Zionsville Basketball, A Century of Eagles which tells the interesting history of Zionsville High School's program. Kermit also works with the Indiana High School Basketball Historical Society. While nothing is set in stone, future plans include books about other historic Indiana high school basketball programs.
